High-Volume Production with Fast Cycle Times

We produce aluminum alloy die castings for high-volume applications. Die casting is different from gravity casting and low-pressure casting. The molten aluminum is injected into the mold cavity at high speed and high pressure. The cycle time is very fast. A single cycle may take only a few seconds. This high efficiency makes die casting suitable for large production volumes. Common applications are equipment housings, electronic control boxes, and new energy components. Our machining shop can do the CNC finishing on die castings to bring them to final assembly dimensions.

  • Common Materials and Dimensional Tolerances

Our common materials are ADC12 and A380. These aluminum-silicon alloys have good fluidity and excellent castability. The dimensional tolerance is CT4 to CT6. The surface roughness is Ra1.6 to 6.3 micrometers. The surface finish is naturally good. Many die casting surfaces do not need extra polishing. The minimum wall thickness is 1.5 to 2.5 millimeters. This allows thin-walled, complex parts with good detail reproduction.

  • Important Limitation to Understand

Die castings contain some internal porosity. This is a characteristic of the high-pressure injection process. The porosity means die castings are generally not recommended for heat treatment or welding. Heat treatment can cause the trapped gas to expand and form surface blisters. Welding can also cause porosity issues. We tell this to all our customers before they place an order. If you need heat treatment or welding, we can recommend gravity casting or low-pressure casting as alternatives.

Complete Service from Die Casting to Finishing

Our factory has die casting machines and post-processing equipment. After casting, we do trimming and shot blasting. Our machining shop has multiple CNC machines. We can machine the mounting surfaces and thread holes on die castings. This compensates for the dimensional accuracy limits of the as-cast part. We inspect critical dimensions and do visual checks for defects. We check for cold shuts, cracks, and other casting defects. We are certified under ISO9001:2015.
